What is Emotional Intelligence?Emotional intelligence (EI), sometimes termed as Emotional Quotient (EQ) is our ability to manage our own emotions, understand the emotions of others and to be able to positively discriminate against them – in other words, to manage them in a healthy way. We use and facilitate the Reuven Bar-On EQi2.0 inventory, administered by Multi Health Systems of Canada. We chose this model due to it being the world’s only scientifically validatedEmotional Intelligence assessment. It has been validated for use by the British Psychological Society and theAmerican Psychological Association. BarOn EQ-i® consists of 133 items and includes five validity indices and a sophisticated correction factor rendering scores for the following components:
